When I was sick, it seems that Spring has rapidly transformed into Summer with the temperatures outside already approaching a heat wave. Which, same as every year, leaves me with a problem of what to wear ;-) And when I looked up the current collection by Monsoon, I’ve come across some really interesting pieces. Sure, I wouldn’t wear all of them, but they do attract attention. Here are the ones I liked most, and you can find more here. Enjoy!
And I'm back again, this time unfortunately after a rather miserable break in blogging, which I've spent fighting stomach flu... But I’m better now, and sooo ready to focus on bright and cheery things!

Since we’re already talking about freshening up your wardrobe for the Spring season, here’s another tip – dresses and other clothes from my favourite and very creative Dutch brand DIDI. Here are a few pieces I love, and you can find more at www.didi.nl
Spring has finally arrived, and with it the time of the year when a woman's wardrobe needs some changes ;-) I always consider it a good time to go looking for a new handbag – something bright, cheerful, made from light materials. As always, I started by handbag-hunting with a visit to Accessorize store, but I have to say that for the first time I was a bit disappointed, and I couldn’t find anything to fall in love with. It’s hard to say exactly why, but the new collection just doesn’t do it for me. Here are a few chosen pieces – still colourful, bright and cheerful, but somehow a bit off… Or maybe it’s just that none of these would be good for a hot Spring in the city – they’d fit better with holidays. And what do you think? So I'm not sure if I mentioned it before, but I've recently started a fashion-design course. It's a basic one for those who just want to play a bit with fashion as a relaxing hobby, which is perfect for me - I might be crazy about fashion, trends etc, but I can neither draw nor sew ;-) But knowing one's limitations is a good start, isn't it?
Our first project is to design a decoration/print for a white T-shirt, and here is my design. I'm not sure how it'd look like once I actually make it, but I hope it'll work... Right now I'm having problems finding a dark-green material, but hopefully I'll find something today. Keep your fingers crossed!!! I still can't say that the Spring has already began... Especially that only this past Saturday I woke up to a small... snow-storm, and snow-covered ground!!! Yes, the sun did melt it by the end of the day, but still. And while temperatures do get warmer when the sun comes out, they're still around 0 Celsius degrees during the night... So no, it's not Spring yet - unfortunately.
But every year, when the first warmer day happens, I get a strong impulse to wear something which simply screams "SPRING". Something with a flower pattern, preferably in warm pastels and flowing... Needles to say, I do put on something like this - and next time I go out I always get really cold. But you can't blame me for optimism, can you? And this year, I even made a few sketches of Spring clothes I would love to wear this season - inspired by a meadow - but would I be able to actually make them? And what about you - would you dare to design something for yourself? It’s an established fact that I am a bit crazy when it comes to handbags, and I’m not afraid to admit it ;-) Since the beginning of this blog I’ve shown you quite a few of my favourite brands and designs, and some incredible handbag-creations which bordered on art – bag designs made entirely from flowers and leaves, sculpture-like bags from polymer clay and quite a few others. And today I have for you yet another handbag-novelty – handcrafted from wood. Small, smooth, with flowing lines, rounded shapes and intricate patterns, each and every one of them is original, eye-catching and interesting. And in case you still have any doubts – yes, you can actually use them as handbags, these are not wooden sculptures to admire from afar. I fell in love with the one with the ladybugs, shown on the photo on the left, but the other ones would be a stunner on any night-out as well. Apparently all bags are manufactured from a certain type of African acacia tree, and the designs are supplemented with exotic skins, leathers, crystals, gemstones and pearls. They belong to the UK fashion label called Rocio, founded by Hamish Menzies, Theresa Nepomuceno and Rocio Olbes. You can find more information about them and their incredible creations here, and below is a selection of their handbags for you to browse. It might be possible to come across an offer of a Valentine's gift which is not heart-shaped, but it isn't easy - when February starts, the hearts pop up literally everywhere... While the heart is not my favourite shape - it's just not original enough - I've found a line of pendants which, while also heart-shaped, add to it a bit of - shall I say, sparkle? - and a pinch of coyness by accessorizing it with... some devilishness :-) Some are nicer than the others, but all based on the same idea - the one I like most is the one on the photo on the left, although the one with the pearl is also intriguing. And would you go for any of these? I've found them here. Enjoy! And I'm back! I haven't posted anything during the last few days since I was sick - I got that kind of nasty cold, when you feel as if you collided with a herd of elephants, and after that they came back to dance a jig on your barely-breathing body.... On top of that, this past weekend my in-laws came to vist... So as you can see, I have a really good excuse for neglecting my blog for a few days! But I'm feeling a bit better now, so today I have for you a selection of eye-catching, slightly extravagant and unusual necklaces, which are guaranteed to make you smile :-) And who knows - maybe it's also a good inspiration for a special gift for the upcoming St Valentine's Day? They're all by Accessorize. Enjoy! This winter month is certainly a gloomy one and this city a drab one - a fact which I think could be improved a bit if more women started to wear more interesting, colourful and eye-catching clothes. In Poland, a lot of women still tend to wear blacks, dark military greens and browns - on plain surfaces and not very excitingly cut clothes. And it's a pity, especially because a lot of Polish women is very attractive and has figures worth showing off! I think part of the reason is that Polish clothing market still lacks more creative - and at the same time affordable - brands. One of these is Didi, a Dutch clothing brand I fell in love with when I lived in Holland. Their designs are extremely feminine in their curvy cuts, imaginative, original, eye-catching, figure-flattering and simply pretty. They do attract attention though, so if you wear something by Didi, you have to indeed be ready to "dare to be different" - as the company's motto states. Here are a few pieces from their last two collections, and you can find more here: www.didiwebshop.nl You know how much I like owl-shaped accessories, don't you? And since recently almost every clothing brand has come up with at least one owl-bearing item, I'd say it's not only me ;-) But to my surprise, when recently I came across a website by Aldo, a brand know majorly for its shoes, it turned out that an owl-motif has visited quite a few of their items :-) Here is a selection from their collection, and you can find more at www.aldoshoes.com . Why should't an owl become your talisman for 2011? ;-)
